Grateful for such positive feedback

Embroidery: Rah Naqvi

I’m reaching out after reading Period Matters: Menstruation in South Asia, and I wanted to express how powerful and necessary this collection is. The way it brings together such a wide range of voices—across lived experience, policy, art, and activism—creates a deeply layered and human portrait of a subject that is too often silenced.

What makes the book especially impactful is its openness. By including perspectives from those frequently excluded from mainstream conversations, it doesn’t just inform—it expands understanding and challenges long-held stigmas. There’s a real sense of urgency and care in how these stories and reflections are presented, making the anthology both thought-provoking and deeply moving.
